- See This event is the kick off press conference for the Battle for the Bay City-wide Community Clean Up 2019.It will be on Treasure Island at 11am on Thursday, Sept. 5. The speakers at the press conference will be the Mayors of Oakland and San Francisco and one community member from each city as well – our goal for the press conference is to get a lot of excitement and attention in our communities so that residents sign up to volunteer and participate in cleanups.   Join us as we come together to assess where we're coming from and where we're going. We will focus on relationship building with leaders and staff across Oakland and our region. We'll share our political landscape analysis, and discuss how the Belong Movement responds to our current moment. Leaders will share successes, learnings and challenges in doing one-to-ones and organizing Belong Circles -- how it’s helping them to build power, win bigger, and create concrete changes for themselves and their communities. We will leave with the resources and inspiration to continue our critical organizing work together!
