Community School for Creative Education:

Who We Are ~

Approved by Alameda County Office of Education in 2010, Community School for Creative Education is the country's first  public TK-8th grade Urban Waldorf School.

 

Key Features ~ 

- Among the most diverse schools in the state;

- Among the highest percent multiracial families in the state;

- For two years running,  its English Learners and children in poverty have outperformed the District and surrounding schools on State exam.

- Uniform School

- Extended Day till 6pm Every School Day.

- Children learn Spanish and Mandarin from the Lower Grades through the 8th

- Global Partners in Mexico City, Mexico; Hong Kong;  Capettown & South Africa

To enroll, children must be five years old by December 2, 2017. Our school, along with 90% of other charter schools across the city, is using a common application called Enroll Oakland Charters. The application is available online at https://enrolloak.schoolmint.net.  You can also obtain a paper copy of this application at the school, 2111 International Boulevard, Oakland CA 94606.

Community School's BIG 2016-2017 Public Talk With Reneowned Dr. Kenneth Wesson,

"If it's your job to develop the mind, shouldn't you know how the brain works?" was a big hit.Thank you Dr. Wesson!

 

Ken Wesson aka 'Sciencemaster' works as a keynote speaker and educational consultant for pre-school through university-level institutions and organizations. He speaks throughout the world on the neuroscience of learning and methods for creating classrooms and learning environments that are "brain-considerate."  Underpinning Ken's research, speeches and workshops over the past three decades has been based on the question, "If it's your job to develop the mind, shouldn't you know how the brain works?  He joined us LIVE at Community School Thursday August 11, 2016, 5:30pm - 7pm.
